- It all depends on who your provider is, how many people they have signed
- on, the # of people currently using the net, and the speed of the server
- you're contacting. Through my university I have access to a Sun Sparc
- station on a direct connection to the University's T1 connection, and
- depending on the server I'm contacting, transfer rates can go from
- blistering down to around 2k per second. If your provider has a zillion
- people connecting to their server, that's going to slow you down as well.
